this is a guided instruction time but parents can extend activity ideas into other parts of the day

research show that HIPPY children are more prepared for school and teachers have endorsed this too
Runs for two years
30 weeks per year during school term

the child is involved in eg: Kohanga Reo, Kindergarten, playcentre etc

Parents and caregivers who have children who are 3½ to 4½ years old
desire to use their own language as well as English
Parents and caregivers who live in the Cannons Creek, Waitangirua, Porirua area
Who is the HIPPY Program For?
The activity books, storybooks and shapes needed for the programme are supplied free of charge
Materials
Tutors visit the home one week to deliver the program
The following week parents attend a group meeting at the Fanau Centre to receive their next week of HIPPY work.
This group meeting also includes programs for parents
